Photo 4: Thinly layered biotite-rich granofels of the Vassalboro Group (SOvu) containing granite boudins parallel to compositional layering. The term boudin, derived from the French word for sausage, refers to deformational features formed by the extension of a less ductile layer sandwiched between layers that are more ductile. Vertical road cut on the Exit 15 entrance ramp to I-295 in Yarmouth.
