Description
Photo 14: View down on an outcrop surface of feldspathic gneiss (SOfg). These rocks are dominated by light-colored plagioclase feldspar and dark-colored biotite ± hornblende and are interpreted to represent deformed and metamorphosed igneous rocks of intermediate silica composition. Note the lack of distinct compositional layering in this rock, as compared to the distinctly layered rocks shown in Photos 10, 11, and 13. McCobb Hill, Boothbay Harbor.
