Description

Photo 3: In the Bristol quadrangle, outcrops of biotite granite (Dbg) are typically light gray in color, have flat to rounded surfaces, and are characteristically unlayered. These rocks, crystallized from silica-rich magma deep beneath Earth’s surface, are composed primarily of light-colored quartz and feldspar, and lesser amounts of dark-colored mica (biotite). North of Bay Woods Road, Bristol.
