Description

Topographic cross section view looking northwest up the Bear River Valley at Mother Walker Falls gorge (shown with 3x vertical exaggeration and 2x horizontal exaggeration (1:12,000-scacle)). This U-shaped valley was scoured out by glacial ice flow, while powerful meltwater flow at the base of the ice initiated formation of Mother Walker Falls gorge (see Figures 9 and 10). The modern Bear River is now confined to the gorge in this reach which may be called an “inner gorge” – a gorge within a larger valley.
