Description

MAP CAPTION- Photo 21: Silvery gray quartz-mica schist of the Beauchamp Point Formation (Zbp). Very thin quartz-rich folia alternate with mica-rich folia to produce a laminated structure similar to that of weathered wood. This foliation is crenulated, and the crenulation is deformed into open folds in this photo, making it difficult to identify bedding here. Approximately 900 feet from the south end of Beauchamp Point, Rockport, on the east side of the peninsula.
