Description

Photo 15: Quartz-feldspar gneiss, Rye Complex, New Castle, New Hampshire, Coast Guard station. The blastomylonitic texture in the gneiss is the product of extreme early shearing. This exposure also contains late pseudotachylite (frictional melt rock) in S-shaped gashes formed by late shearing.
