Description

This tidbit originated during the brief window that the Bangor & Bucksport was operating independently before the MEC leased the railroad. The Post Mark shows 'AGT' vs RPO (Railway Post Office). I surmise that AGT means that a Station Agent on working for the railroad postmarked the card and placed it into the Mail system for the customer. I'm not very good at reading cursive hand writing but the text on the left hand side nails the year as 1876 just a year or so after the B&B went into service! /DL
