Description

The Penobscot must have been on a real spring rampage. I suspect because of an ice dam letting go somewhere upstream. This scene is looking across the east end of the Maine Central yard looking into Brewer. The Ohio Southern and Pennsylvania M.L. wood side box cars are a very nice touch. I suspect they were not present during the flood. The low boy wagon is notable as well. The back of this old cabinet photo says: "Souvenir BANGOR FLOOD March 21, 1902". Wikipedia says the Ohio Southern RR operated from 1881 to 1905. /DL
