Description

This Post Card scene is postmarked October 6 1910. This is an interesting scene looking west from the water tank at the east end of the yard near the Mattawamkeag River Bridge. The Canadian Pacific track to Brownville Jct is on the right with the interchange yard with MEC to the left. The Depot Street crossing, apparently not cleared of snow in this scene. There is a crossing in the distance for today’s US Rt2 which doesn’t show up in this perspective. Steam power certainly gives the snow a rather dirty look. /DL.
