    Description

    Portland Terminal (PT) managed the industrial and switching duties in greater Portland. If memory serves it was co-owned by the Boston and Maine and the Maine Central railroads. PT #827 was an 0-6-0 switcher & an Alco product built in Feb of 1912, rebuilt in Jan of 1931 and deposed of in June of 1945. Date and photographer are unknown, the Portland location is an estimate.. A side bar...: Note the wooden outside-braced box car behind the tender and the steel sided box car on the right. The engineer is looking to the rear of his consist, apparently he just spotted MEC 35118. /DL
