1917 11 10 MEC #226 at Thompson's Point RPPC 002
Description
The back of this old picture post card produced by Gorn Studio in Portland simply says 'Thompson's Point Nov 10, 17' and 'Neg 157' The negative hadn't been well taken care of as there are some bad scratches. I believe Thompson's Point was the main MEC roundhouse area off West Commercial Street prior to the establishment of Rigby Yard. Number 225 was built by ALCO (builders # 4213) and sold to MEC as number 36 in October of 1894 and renumbered to 225 in 1900. It was scrapped in November of 1920. /DL
