Description
Certificate awarded by local school superintendent Henry W. Leveque [Lévesque] authorizing Joseph F. Cyr to teach at the Frenchville Common School.
Joseph François Cyr (1867-1945) graduated from the Madawaska Training School and taught in Frenchville, Fort Kent, Clayton Lake, Saint Francis, and Saint John, Maine. He became a school superintendent and served in many other public offices. He married Elise Morin in Frenchville on October 29, 1898.
