Description
Maine Insane Hospital Letter Regarding Samuel Burbank, June 25, 1860 is a letter from the Maine Insane Hospital notifying the Cumberland Overseers of the Poor on the condition of Samuel Burbank, a Cumberland pauper. The letter notes Burbank is “convalescent” and “goes out every day & works steadily on the Farm.” Burbank was admitted to the Maine Insane Hospital for “excessive politeness,” following fever in February 1860.
