Description
Maine Insane Hospital Bill for Samuel Burbank, July 6, 1860 details expenses owed by the Cumberland Overseers of the Poor to the Maine Insane Hospital for the care and board of Samuel Burbank, a Cumberland pauper. The Hiram Overseers of the Poor described Burbank as “rich with fever” in February 1860. By May, Burbank had been admitted to the Maine Insane Hospital for “excessive politeness.” He was declared well enough to leave in June of the same year.
