Description
In the summer of 1950, Amos Winter and several of his Carrabassett Valley friends form the Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Club in Kingfield. They go to work cutting trails, and by 1952 skiers are racing down the mountain. Today, Sugarloaf and Sunday River in Bethel are two of the largest ski resorts east of the Mississippi River.
