    Description

The Freeboro Press was a fictional newspaper created as a companion educational publication to the public television series North of the Namaskeag. Produced in 1971, the paper presents a simulated community debate in the fictional town of Freeboro, Maine, over the proposed construction of a canning plant along the Namaskeag River. Through news articles, editorials, and letters to the editor representing differing viewpoints, the publication was designed to help students explore issues of environmental protection, economic development, and local decision-making.
