Description

Photo 8: View towards the north of a rounded woods exposure of the Cox Pinnacle Granite (CDcp) in the central portion of the quadrangle. Outcrops of this granite are characteristically unlayered and are generally found as either small flat pavement exposures in low-lying areas, or larger dome-shaped exposures on hill tops (such as shown here). The low-relief north-central portion of the quadrangle, where few outcrops are found, may be underlain by this granite, or a mixture of granite and metamorphic rocks as illustrated in Photo 5. Outcrop at Bald Rock, approximately 2400 feet east of Collinsbrook Road, Brunswick.
