Photo 7: Close up of Somesville biotite granite (Ssm) in a dike that cuts the layered gabbro-granite unit. Larger pink to cream potassium feldspar crystals surrounded by smaller light gray calcium feldspar and quartz crystals. Dark gray to black grains of biotite. Weathering has oxidized the upper surface and a diagonal fracture a reddish color.
