Description

Pillow basalt in the Canada Falls volcanics of the Frontenac Formation. Contains large calcite amygdules toward the center of the pillow and finer grainied rim. Location is approximate. There are numerous basalt outcrops in this vicinty that are exposed at low water levels. The second image shows nearly vertical bedding in flattened pillow basalts.
