Description
Approximate extent of late-glacial sea in the Rome quadrangle, shown in teal over lidar hillshade - many upland areas would have been islands. Modern lake outlines shown for context. Marine highstand was probably about 360 ft (110 m), estimated from nearby glaciomarine delta elevations in Thompson and others (1989). The Rome quadrangle lacks obvious highstand indicators, such as wave-cut benches and stranded shorelines.
