Description

MAP CAPTION- Photo 14: Tiger-striped gneiss of the Goose River Formation (Zgr). The thin compositional layers of quartzite, calc-silicate granofels, and marble do not form simple parallel layers, so it is not clear whether they represent sedimentary or metamorphic features, or a combination of both. Regardless of their origin, this pattern is a distinctive lithologic feature of the formation. A few feet south of the Photo 12 locality.
