Description

MAP CAPTION- Photo 9: Bedded quartzite and quartzite conglomerate of the Battie Quartzite Member of the Megunticook Formation (C#mbx). Dark-weathering, light gray quartzite beds in the lower part of the outcrop have thin biotite lamination and cross-lamination. The hammer rests on a thicker bed of conglomerate with 1-2 cm white quartzite clasts. Beds dip to the right (northeast). Road cut, north side of Mount Battie Auto Road, Camden Hills State Park.
