Description
This presentation provides an overview of MaineDOT’s Bangor I-95 Bridges Replacement project, involving the replacement of the Kenduskeag Avenue Bridge over I-95 and the northbound and southbound I-95 bridges over Stillwater Avenue. The presentation outlines the project team, existing bridge conditions, project goals, construction plans, traffic maintenance strategies, budget information, and anticipated schedule. The project is intended to replace three bridges constructed in the 1960s that are nearing the end of their service life, while improving safety, durability, pedestrian access, and long-term maintenance needs. It also describes planned traffic phasing for the Stillwater Avenue bridges, the temporary closure and detour for the Kenduskeag Avenue bridge, and a project schedule extending from public presentation in September 2025 through anticipated completion in October 2029.
