Description
Three issues (May, July, and September 1995) of Maine Acadian Culture produced under the auspices of the National Park Service (North Atlantic Region/Northeast Field Area) and issued by Acadia National Park. Two issues were mailed to Lisa Ornstein, director of the Acadian Archives in Fort Kent.
Topics include:
- The NPS project office in Madawaska;
- The role and composition of the Maine Acadian Culture Preservation Commission;
- Interpretive elements, facilities, and the preservation involved in promoting Maine Acadian culture;
- Recent accomplishments, including preservation efforts in Frenchville and research on the Acadian landing site;
- The effects of Congress's rescission bill;
- The appointment of Rose Nadeau and Paul Violette to the Commission;
- A profile of Don Cyr with an overview of his work for the NPS;
- NPS plans for St. Croix Island.
