Description
Full transcript of the meeting of the Maine Acadian Culture Preservation Advisory Commission held in Van Buren on September 22, 1994 and chaired by Richard G. Dumont (president of the University of Maine at Fort Kent). Also enclosed: a summary report of this meeting produced after the fact. The original packet to Commission members included news clippings and the report titled "Implementing the Maine Acadian Culture Preservation Act."
Agenda:
- Presentation on the historic architecture seminar by Don Cyr;
- Talk titled "Religious Architecture of the Upper St. John Valley" by Earle Shettleworth;
- Discussion of the NPS implementation proposal and the public response.
In a 7-to-1 vote, the Commissioners endorsed the Maine Acadian Culture Preservation proposal put forth by the NPS.
