From The Maine Central Magazine, Feb 1895 for Steamship Service between Rockland & Bucksport

I've only come across one reference to this service, which I assume was short lived. Apparently a passenger was offered a steam ship trip up The Penobscot to Bucksport via the Steamer VIKING thus avoiding rail travel west from Rockland to Brunswick thence east to Bangor via Augusta and Waterville over the 'Lower Road'. What better way to access The County via the B&A for one in Rockland! /DL
