Description

Here is MEC #189 switching at Lewiston in 1932 according to notes on the back of the print. However RR History provides the following: MEC 189 was built by the Brooks Locomotive Works in June of 1899 serial number 3234. It was Washington County number 11 and so remained until Maine Central merged with the WCRR in 1911 when it was renumbered to #189. RR History further indicates that the locomotive was scrapped in May of 1927 which puts the 1932 date into question... (The Brooks Locomotive Works merged into the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) in 1901.)/DL
