    Description

The tavern was built in 1793 by Moses Crafts. The timber was hand hewn and put together with pegs and hand-wrought nails. It was popular stopping place for stagecoaches passing through. People came from miles around to dance in the elegant ballroom. Many would come for the night and leave in the early morning on the stage going north to Farmington or south to Hallowell.
