This is the first Jay Fire Department. It was located in North Jay. The first in a fire department in Jay was expressed in 1926. At a town meeting on March 14, 1927, voters appropriated $4,000 to purchase a piece of fire apparatus to fight fires in North Jay and the vicinity.
