Description
Bath Overseers Letter Regarding Bill for Woodman Corker, April 18, 1862 is a letter in which the Bath Overseers of the Poor charge the Cumberland Overseers of the Poor for the care of the pauper Woodman Corker, despite a previous letter refuting his settlement in Cumberland. The Bath Overseers state that “if he did not belong to your town you should have refused to pay the bill within the time allowed by Law” and, as a result, Cumberland is accountable for Corker’s expenses.
