Photograph of the shingle-style “Hill Acres,” the summer estate of Parker Morse Hooper located on upper Chestnut Street in Camden. Hooper was a descendant of the Morse shipbuilding family in Bath, Maine and resided in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Parker M. Hooper was one of the primary forces behind the construction of the Camden Public Library during the Great Depression. This beautiful home was lost to arson in the mid-1980s and never rebuilt. The site is now the Greenfields subdivision.
