Description
The 1999 Maine State Legislature approved the New Century Community Program to assist our communities in preserving and strengthening their cultural and educational resources and increasing access to them. To implement the Program, the Legislature also approved state funding of $3.2 million for matching grants and technical assistance for fiscal year 1999-2000. The Program is open to all Maine communities. They may apply through a nonprofit organization incorporated in Maine or a unit of local or county government.
