Description
In 1905, Township Two, Range Six, west of the easterly line of the state near Greenville, the Shaw Lumber Company constructs the first fire lookout tower in the United States. The fire tower is built on what is known at the time as Big Squaw Mountain. The name is later changed to Big Moose Mountain.
