Over There, Down Home: Remembering WW1

William Eaton Whittaker

William Eaton Whittaker was born on September 27, 1898, in Melrose, Massachusetts. Before the war, he was living in Bar Mills, Maine.

He enlisted in the U. S. Army in the summer of 1915. He was 17 years old. He became a member of Company E, 101 Engineers, Division 26.

After the Great War, he worked for Central Maine Power and joined the American Legion in Buxton, Maine. He died March 28, 1994, in Augusta, Maine. He is remembered here by his daughter, a resident of Augusta, Maine.
