Description
This report summarizes the methods and results of a remote sensing analysis conducted in 2024 to assess white pine needle damage (WPND) across Maine. Using Landsat composites and aerial survey data, the Forest Service identified and classified damage severity across over 14,000 polygons. Accuracy of damage detection and classification was evaluated using high-resolution imagery and machine learning predictions.
