Description
Two photographic portraits of Maine Governor Percival P. Baxter taken during his time in office. (1821-1825) Baxter is the donor of Baxter State Park including and surrounding Mt. Katahdin. He was also well known for his love of dogs as evident in the second photograph.
these images were donated tot he Maine State Library by Mary Clark of Kittery Point, Mane in 2000.
