Description
Correspondence from John G. Deane, Esq. to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and officers of the Penobscot Tribe regarding the proposed settlement up the Penobscot River and the construction of a military road. Deane conveys the State's proposal that the townships at the mouth of the Mattawamkeag be purchased for clearing and cultivation.
