Description
This report presents the Maine Department of Transportation’s 2022 Transportation Asset Management Plan for National Highway System highways and bridges in Maine, including assets owned by MaineDOT and the Maine Turnpike Authority. The plan documents MaineDOT’s asset management structure, data collection methods, management systems, performance measures, life-cycle planning, investment strategies, financial planning, performance gap analysis, and risk management processes. It also addresses federal transportation asset management requirements under MAP-21 and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including consideration of extreme weather, resilience, and climate-related risk. The report summarizes current pavement and bridge conditions, establishes state-of-good-repair goals and performance targets, and outlines investment strategies intended to preserve and improve Maine’s transportation infrastructure within available resources.
