Abstract
Entries include brief biographical information, a typed biography, a typed letter presenting reviews and articles for her book on the folklore of Mt. Katahdin specifically in reference to a totem pole made by Girl Scout campers at Camp Natarswi at the base of Mt. Katahdin, a copy of a book review with praise from former Governor Baxter, a newspaper book review clipping with the photographic images of the mountain and campers Dalessio and Barker with Tousignant in front of the totem pole and an account of a commendation from the Appalachian Trail Conference, a newspaper clipping with the photographic images of the closing of camp session at Camp Natarswi with the images of Mann lighting her candle from Drew and the image of the totem pole with Smith's handwritten documentation of the work of the campers, a newspaper clipping book review by Lewis, a typed biographical letter explaining her relationship to the Hoar, Parkman, and Longfellow families and concerning an article written for Down East magazine, a copy of a typed reply from Brehaut of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce to Smith concerning the Parkman bandstand, a typed letter of presentation for her next booklet, typed letters and a book review clipping concerning publicity, the work of Whooley with the Maine Development Commission, a question and answer appearance on Bud Leavitt's television show, and a typed letter from Smith presenting Strange Tales of Abenaki Shamanism with an announcement of the second edition of her out of print first booklet.
