The Maine State Library has partnered with Maine Sportsman Magazine to digitize back issues of the publication for access online.

How you can help!

We are looking for scanning volunteers and access to early issues of the magazine that we can use for digitization.

Tracking down missing issues

We know the publication began at some point in the early-to-mid 1970s, but the earliest issue held by the Maine State Library is January 1981. If you have any issues from 1980 or earlier, we would be very interested in talking with you about borrowing your copies for the purpose of digitization.

A handful of more recent issues are also missing from our collection and are needed for this project, including:

• March 1981: and
• July 1993

Is there an issue or year of particular interest to you?

We would love your help scanning some of these back issues and could put you to work digitizing publications from a period of particular interest to you. If you don't have the time to come in and scan, you can sponsor the digitization of an issue for $25 or a full year for $250. Contact Adam Fisher at 207-287-5620 for more information
