Description
This photo is inside one of the Maine and New Hampshire Granite Corporation Cutting Sheds. A railroad line was built to carry cars up and down the hillside and to and from the cutting sheds. This was accomplished by loading the car with granite blocks and then gravity would move the blocks down the hill. The force of the filled car would cause an empty car to return to the top to be filled again.
