Description
Historical Photographs taken by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Group of photos identified as "Sebago Lake Region ". Photo identified as "Brook trout from Socatean stream, Moosehead Lake, is measured by regional Fishery Biologist Roger AuClair of Rockwood. Anesthesized fish will also provide age and growth data, information on the life history of brook trout in the Moosehead Lake area. Late fall research conducted on spawning runs must be accomplished without damage to the fish. Outside air temperatures at time of photo were so low that this fish, later tagged was measured and weighed within an enclosure on the bank of Socatean Stream, to prevent freezing.".
