Description
Obligation of Stephen E. Phipps, with Henry W. Hyde and John B. Grafton as co-signers, to the inhabitants of Letter D Plantation, which became Fort Fairfield. The replevin bond in the amount of $200 may have insured local residents from losses in the case of seizures.
The bond coincided with Phipps' appointment as constable for the duration of the municipal year. Signed April 23, 1853.
