Documents relating to the estate of Sir William Pepperell (1696-1759) of Kittery, who was an American colonial merchant and soldier who commanded the land forces which captured the French fortress of Louisbourg during King George's War. He was created a baronet in 1746. He later served as acting Governor of Massachusetts in 1756.
