Description

Surrounded by family, friends and colleagues, Major Jon Cornish was pinned in a recent ceremony at the Maine State Hall of Flags. Pictured above are Maine Department of Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher congratulating Major Cornish on his new position and Major Cornish’s wife, Kim. Major Cornish was lauded by Commissioner Keliher and Marine Patrol Colonel Fessenden for leadership, high professional standards and an exceptional work ethic.

A 28-year veteran of the Maine Marine Patrol, Cornish replaces Major Alan Talbot who retired recently after a 25-year career with the Marine Patrol. Major Cornish began his career in 1985 as a Marine Patrol Officer and steadily rose through the ranks, earning promotions to Sergeant and Lieutenant before his most recent promotion to Major.
