Description
Another in a long list of disappointments - Sea squirts, by the thousands, have descended upon the oyster "set" time and again in the past four years and raised havoc with attempts to raise Maine's first crop of oysters. Sea squirts are one of a number of sea creatures which have plagued the prospective oyster crop and the "sea farmers" in their first venture into aquaculture. Most problems have been resolved, however, and this week Maine's coastal water surrendered the first marketable crop of man-raised oysters.
