Description
Odor Test - An inspector for the National Marine Fisheries Service (left), observes one of the important quality tests for fish being processed for canning in Terminal Island, California. Every fish going through the butchering line before canning is checked for off odor. The inspector is part of a newly launched program of constant federal inspection. Each can processed carries a "Packed Under Federal Inspection" seal.
