The 32rd Maine Regiment was mustered in for three years' service on March 3, 1864 and were mustered out on August 20, 1865. On December 12, 1864, the 32nd was consolidated with the 31st Maine Infantry. Of the men enrolled in the regiment, 85 were killed or died of wounds, and 117 died of disease.

- Cold Harbor, VA - May 31 - June 12, 1864
- Petersburg, VA - June 9, 1864
- Weldon Railroad, VA - August 18-21, 1864
- Poplar Spring, VA - September 30-October 2, 1864
- Hatchers Run, VA - December 8-9, 1864
