Light Artillery - 1st Maine Battery

 

The 1st Maine Battery was mustered in for three years' seven months service on December 18, 1861, and was mustered out on July 15, 1865. Of the men enrolled in the regiment, 15 were killed or died of wounds and 28 died of disease.

They served in the following engagements:

  • Labadieville, LA - October 27, 1862
  • Pattersonville, LA - January 14, 1863
  • Port Hudson, LA - March 14, 1863
  • Bisland, LA - April 12, 1863
  • Donaldsonville, LA - July 13, 1863
  • Fort Stevens, DC - July 11, 1864
  • Winchester, VA - July 19, 1864
  • Strasburg, VA - September 22, 1864
  • Cedar Creek, VA - October 19, 1864
