Letter to Adjutant General Hodsdon from Mrs. Henry E. Dexter asking about missing husband and inquiring if he was killed or wounded at Gettysburg.
"Boston, Aug. 3d, 1863
Mr. Hodsdon
Dear Sir,
I have not heard from my dear husband for a long time and write to you to know whether he was killed or wounded in the battle at Gettysburg he was in the 16th Maine Regt, Company A his name was Henry E. Dexter if you will let me know you will greatly oblige.
